CPOE module now allows entering "Draft Orders" for Patients on the Waiting List. Physician can enter Draft Orders for patients to be admitted later time or day. The Orders remain in "Draft mode" until the patient is admitted to the facility at which point they are automatically set to Active.

This function assists the facility in being able to prepare for a patient enter the facility during non-business hours and weekends. Thus working relatives can accompany a patient during an admission at more convenient times, without disrupting their work schedules.

CNA Touch module now supports tracking Skilled Nursing Rehab treatments provided to the patients. Programmable touch buttons enable nurses and certified nursing assistants to record treatments provided using wireless and fixed touch screens at the point-of-care.

Auto-Fill button added to the MDS Section O which populates the fields based on what has been entered in the computerized physician order entry (CPOE) module. This functionality is f facilities using either the Optimum Computerized Order Entry module or have a Bi-Directional HL7 Interface with their existing Pharmacy Vendor.

Next week a major software update to the accounting and clinical modules is being released. Clients will receive an email notification with documentation (release notes) detailing all the fixes/enhancements that have been implemented. Many suggestions and enhancements collected over the past year have been included in his new release.

Instant messaging (IM) technologies allows real-time text-based communications (Chat/Instant Messaging ) between two or more participants in a private network/intranet, in real-time. Now users can start instant messaging sessions with all the other users by simply clicking on the new IM Button in the Optimum User Interface.

New options added to the Federal Per Diem Report to support Multiple Rates. The options allow generating the regular report with patients receiving over 70% Disability and Service Related Disability. New pay sources have been added to track this change in reporting.

The Optimum Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) module's HL7 Gateway has been approved to electronically interface with the Omnicare Pharmacy computer. The HL7 electronic gateway provides bi-directional transmissions of data between a facility's Computerized Physician Order Entry and Omnicare's processing center.

The bi-directional HL7 interface sends new and change orders directly to the Omnicare computers. As the orders are filled, changes and adjustments made by the pharmacist update the facility's computer, synchronizing the prescriptions data between the systems.

New Internet database services have been developed for access by the Optimium Clinical software. The national drug data files have been moved to cloud computing on the Google data center. The services will be used to automatically update the facilities drug formulary databases used by the Pharmacy and Physician Order Entry modules. This eliminates the need for users to have to manually to download and apply the updates.

The cloud computing services is being expanded to include many commonly accessed information databases.

The module has been updated to comply with the VA MDS Dual Submission requirements. This change is included in the update to the clinical software.
