MDS 3.0 Released to Beta Testing

MDS 3.0 has been released to several clients for Beta testing. The interfaces and Auto-Fill functions are currently being developed for Pharmacy Prescriptions (Orders), Rehabilitation Treatments, Assessments and CNA-Touch, to be released in the next two weeks.

The MDS 3.0 application continues to support the older MDS 2.0 history records and they can be viewed by the MDS 3.0 application. Thus there will continue to be a continuous record of the patient's MDS assessments.

Web Seminars will be scheduled to introduce the application.

Electronic Signature Capture Pads - Intergrated with Optimum

Capture Signatures using Topaz Systems, Inc. SigLite LCD (Model T-LBK460-HSB). The Optimum software supports all the signature pads produced by Topaz. However, the SigLite is recommended as it is low cost and well suited for the volume and type of signing needed by your facility.

SigLite LCD is a low-cost pressure-sensitive electronic signature capture pad. SigLite features all the high-quality biometric and forensic capture techniques of a SignatureGem LCD tablet but with a low-cost touchpad and stylus. The device attached to a PC and is controlled by the Optimum software.

Infection Control Module

New Optimum EMR module for recording and assessing infections. Software automates the labor-intensive task of documenting the cases, identifying patients with pathogens, antibiograms, or antibiotics. requiring monitoring. It provides fast and accurate determination and reporting of Nosocomial and other infections.

24-Hour Supervisor Reporting Blog

New add-on module providing a secured blog for supervisors and administrators to post important information to be shared.

The blog is accessed from the user interface and displays the posting in time sequence. Daily Blog entries are a log of the major issues that need to be noted or addressed. Users can lookup or print the posting for any selected date. Text search feature allows finding posts by words or phrases.

The blogging engine is based on the popular Apache Foundation Blogging engine, Roller. It can also be used natively to provide blogs for the facility's website.

New Application Server

New application Server to be released first Quarter 2010 will replace the existing Agila Application Server. The technology will not chnage the existing user applications, rather it will be used to create the next generation of software.

The Server will be shipped and installed with the next software update. Server technology enables rapid application development and shared services for programs which are developed using the latest technologies available, such as:
a. Microsoft .NET Services
b. Java
c. HTML/XML Webservices
d. SOAP and REST Services
e. IPhone development

Facility Administrative Blog

New module to improve communications between administration and the staff. Supervisors can post messages to the Blog that can be viewed by the administrators and other authorized personnel. The Blog is based on the popular Blogs used on the Internet and feature many of the same capabilities. However, this blog is private to the organization and cannot be viewed except by authorized individuals.

Electronic Bed Board (EBB)

The Electronic Bed Board module displays a visual map of the occupancy of the rooms by nursing unit. The status of each room and bed is displayed in a visual grid with the patient names displayed in colors to indicate the gender of the patient. The information can be displayed on monitors of different sizes ranging from 17" to 60" HD-TV monitors.

The information displayed is based on the Daily Census and will update instantly upon any changes to the census data.

Update to Surequest ThreeSquares Interface

Updates to interface adding transfer of bed retentions and LOA changes on the patients. ADL ADT/Census functions now pass patient photos to the ThreeSquares Interface for printing on the Tray Cards.

New Rehab CCI Edits

Update to the Rehab module CCI Edits available for download. All Rehab users should make sure to download and apply the update.

The Rehab CCI edits are normally released four time a year and is effective for 3 months:
v. xx.0 on Jan 1st(2nd), and is effective from 01-01 thru 03-31
v. xx.1 on Apr 1st, and is effective from 04-01 thru 06-30
v. xx.2 on Jul 1st, and is effective from 07-01 thru 09-30
v. xx.3 on Oct 1st, and is effective from 10-01 thru 12-31

Assessment Module - Prior Assessment Copy Function

This modification is for facilities wanting to complete their assessments by Exception. Exception means that the previous assessment responses are copied to the new assessment and the user changes the responses which have new or changed values.

When a New Assessment is requested, the program's Wizard function asks if this assessment is to be copied from the previous assessment. If the copy function is requested, the Assessment data is copied from the corresponding Assessment tool (sections) regardless of which specific assessment form was previously completed.
