The software product illustrated at left was created to assist scouting coaches
for a New York-based NBA team. The coaches approached ADL with a problem—how
to quickly sketch and record plays. Within a few short weeks, our design team
analyzed the requirements, learned a lot about basketball, created the software, wrote
a help manual, and trained the coaches to use the mouse-driven,
Windows-based system on laptop computers.
After going live with the program, the coaches were delighted to say
that the new software saved hours of tedious note-taking and data entry.
Most of our custom programming jobs are more closely related to our fields of
specialty, of course: adding a specialized field to an existing form to suit
a particular facility's data-collection needs, for example. Most facilities find
our software innately customizable enough for their purposes without custom
programming, but for those with a different way of doing things, we can
make it possible.
