Converting Your Existing Data

Installing a new computer system, requires the ability to move data from your existing system. ADL software incorporates built in features to help make the transition easy.

Import/Export Functions

ADL programs feature import/export functions which allow you to import comma delimited files (CSV) in the new database. Many older systems include export capability to produce CSV files which are normally used to create Excel/Lotus spreadsheets.

Code Mappings

All codes defined in the ADL software can be mapped/linked to outside vendor codes. This enables our software to quickly conform to your coding tables with no changes to your current code structure.

Conversion Tools

Over the many years of installing new systems, we've developed many conversion routines to import/convert data from other systems. Conversions are normally undertaken only when a large amount of historical data needs to be retained.

Usual Limitations

It should be noted that ADL software has very extensive and detailed history of all transactions and data fields, which many other vendors ignore. Therefore, conversions may be limited by the other systems which typically do not have sufficient data on file. In these cases our experienced support staff will advise how to best utilize the conversion routines.
