HIPAA Health Care Provider Taxonomy Codes (PDF)

by the AMA, according to HIPAA regulations.
The Taxonomy Code list was published in January 2008, and is effective
from April 1, 2008.
Taxonomy Codes are also called Specialty Codes, and are the 9-digit numbers
assigned under the HIPAA provisions to health care providers, in order to digitally
encode their specialty in order to facilitate electronic billing.
